한국의 전통 맷돌을 현대 의자로 재해석하다.
리콜렉트 첫 번째 프로젝트의 주제는 한국의 전통 맷돌입니다. 우리는 AI와 함께 전통 맷돌을 현대 의자로 재해석하는 프로젝트를 진행하였습니다. 사람들이 일반적으로 맷돌을 생각했을 때 두 개의 돌이 맞물려 돌아가고, 곡식을 가는 이미지를 떠올릴 것입니다. 리콜렉트는 맷돌의 일반적인 이미지가 아닌 맷돌과 손잡이의 관계성과 형태에 집중했습니다. 맷돌의 역할을 수행하기 위해서 맷돌 손잡이는 필수적인 존재입니다. 이 관계성을 현대 라이프 스타일에 맞게 의자와 등받이에 적용한 프로젝트입니다.
Reinterpret traditional Korean millstones with modern chairs.
The theme of the first project of Re-kollect is the traditional Korean millstone. We worked with AI on a project to reinterpret traditional millstones into modern chairs. When people think of millstones in general, they'll think of images of two interlocking stones, grinding grain. Re-kollect focused on the relationship and shape of the millstone and the handle, not on the usual image of the millstone. The millstone handle is essential to perform the role of the millstone. It is a project that applies this relationship to chairs and backrests in line with the modern lifestyle.
등받이 모듈형 의자 MILLSTOOL
의자에 장시간 앉아있기 위해서는 편안한 시트와 등받이가 필요합니다. 우리는 이에 맞춰 맷돌과 손잡이의 떨어질 수 없는 관계성과 형태적 특징을 의자와 등받이에 적용한 밀스툴을 제안합니다. 현대 라이프스타일에 맞게 사람들의 다양한 니즈를 충족시킬 수 있는 등받이 모듈형 의자로 새로운 경험을 제공합니다. 밀스툴의 형태와 기능을 통해 한국의 전통 맷돌을 새롭게 경험할 수 있습니다.
밀스툴의 등받이는 총 3개로 Basic, Armrest, Side table로 구성되어 있습니다. 밀스툴은 Chat GPT와 함께 맷돌의 형태를 가진 의자 이미지 프롬프트를 작성하고, 이 프롬프트를 Midjourney에 입력해 뽑은 여러 스케치를 바탕으로 리콜렉트가 최종 디자인과 CMF설정을 마무리했습니다.

In line with this, we propose a millstool that applies the inseparable relationship and morphological features of millstones and handles to chairs and backrests. Delivering a new experience with a backrest modular chair that can meet people's diverse needs to suit their modern lifestyle. Through the form and function of the millstool, you can experience the traditional Korean millstone.
The Mills tool has a total of three backrests: Basic, Armrest, and Side table. Millstool, along with the Chat GPT, created a chair image prompt in the form of a millstone, and based on several sketches drawn by typing this prompt into Midjourney, Re-kollect completed the final design and CMF setup.
